This is the first and only annual keiki hula competition held here on the Mainland US. Come and join us to be a part of showcasing the future of the hula tradition, our keiki. The only running keiki hula competitions are held in Hawai`i, and now the opportunity for the Mainland halau to feature your keiki is here, locally without the expense of air travel. This festival will grow into an annual event that will be an anchor for keiki hula competition.
The Makanaaloha Group is honored to have Uncle George Na`ope's blessings as well as his permission to hold the Keiki Hula Festival in his name. It will be our distinct privilege to have Uncle George attend as our guest to oversee the Keiki Hula Festival, as Hawaiian traditions are perpetuated through the sharing of hula and aloha in his honor.
To Our Honored Judges for this event, we are grateful for their commitment of time, knowledge, aloha, and support of Uncle George Na`ope and this event. Our Judges for hula confirmed this year will be Chinky Māhoe, Etua Lopes, & Keala Ching. Our Judge for `ōlelo Hawai`i is `Iokepa De Santos.
